ICF defini\u0161e ovu kompetenciju kao \u201eUdru\u017eivanje sa klijentom radi stvaranja sigurnog okru\u017eenja, punog podr\u0161ke, koje omogu\u0107ava klijentu da slobodno deli. Odr\u017eava odnos uzajamnog po\u0161tovanja i poverenja. \u201ePrva tri pokazatelja da je kou\u010d kompetentan za negovanje poverenja i sigurnosti su:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">1. Trudi se da razume klijenta u njegovom kontekstu, \u0161to mo\u017ee da podrazumeva njegov identitet, okru\u017eenje, iskustva, vrednosti i uverenja<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2. Pokazuje po\u0161tovanje identiteta, percepcije, stila i jezika klijenta i prilago\u0111ava na\u010din kou\u010dinga klijentu<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3. Priznaje i po\u0161tuje klijentove jedinstvene talente, uvide i rad u procesu kou\u010dinga<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ova tri pokazatelja fokusiraju se na posmatranje i prihvatanje klijenta onakvim kakav je zaista i gde se on nalazi u ovom trenutku. Jedan od razloga za\u0161to kou\u010devi te\u017ee da se usmere na odre\u0111enu oblast je taj \u0161to je lak\u0161e raditi sa klijentima kada razumete njihov svet, kako je biti u tom svetu i izazove sa kojima se suo\u010davaju. Pa ipak, ne\u0107emo uvek imati kontekst da u potpunosti razumemo svet svog klijenta. U ovim trenucima moramo da se oslonimo na svoju empatiju dok slu\u0161amo klijenta i sagledavamo stvari iza pri\u010de, da bismo osetili kako bi morao da izgleda \u017eivot sa tim jedinstvenim izazovima u njihovom okru\u017eenju. Teret kou\u010da je da preduzme korake neophodne za sticanje bilo kog konteksta koji je potreban da bi sa dovoljno saose\u0107anja upoznao klijenta u svom svetu, umesto da odbaci njegove perspektive, jer su one u velikoj meri razli\u010dite od kou\u010devog dosada\u0161njeg iskustva. Na primer, ja sam ro\u0111ena Amerikanka, bela Amerikanka, koja govori engleski jezik. Oduvek sam \u017eivela u SAD-u i imam odre\u0111ene privilegije zbog svog porekla, pa mi se prirodno de\u0161ava da pretpostavim da su svi imali isto iskustvo. Realnost je takva da moje iskustvo Amerike nije isto iskustvo drugih koji su imali mikroagresije, diskriminaciju i drugu rasnu nepravdu. Kao kou\u010d koji radi sa velikim brojem ljudi, moja je odgovornost da se edukujem o kontekstu kako moji klijenti do\u017eivljavaju svakodnevni \u017eivot kao nebeli Amerikanac ili migrant u Americi. Moram biti otvorena da razumem njihov svet, po\u0161tujem njihova gledi\u0161ta i po\u0161tujem kontekst u kojem oni do\u017eivljavaju \u017eivot. Ukratko, moram ostati radoznala. Radoznalost mi poma\u017ee da shvatim napredak koji klijent posti\u017ee i hrabrost potrebnu za dono\u0161enje odre\u0111enih odluka i promena. Radoznalost mi omogu\u0107ava da se empatija koju ose\u0107am ne pretvoriti u simpatiju, jer simpatija pretpostavlja da je klijent nekako slomljen. Ako to ne mogu da u\u010dinim, ne\u0107u mo\u0107i da razvijem poverenje i sigurnost u odnosu jer ne\u0107u mo\u0107i da obezbedim da se klijent ose\u0107a kao da ga vidim, \u010dujem, razumem, prihvatam i podr\u017eavam. Radoznalost mi tako\u0111e daje mogu\u0107nost da istinski proslavim uspeh u partnerstvu sa klijentom. Kako da budemo u sigurnom odnosu, ako moj klijent ne mo\u017ee biti siguran da \u0107u na izra\u017eavanje njihove istine odgovoriti bez osu\u0111ivanja i potruditi se da u potpunosti razumem? Slu\u0161anje i kori\u0161\u0107enje jezika na\u0161eg klijenta je va\u017ean deo sagledanja na klijenta u celini i pru\u017eanja po\u0161tovanja u njegovom svetu. Umesto da o\u010dekujem da se on prilagodi meni, moram da nau\u010dim da se ja prilago\u0111avam njemu. Da bih stvorila siguran prostor, moram da se preselim u njegov svet, a ne da o\u010dekujem da se on preseli u moj.
