Henri Lipmanowicz

Henri Lipmanowicz is an author, organizational innovator, and co-founder of Liberating Structures, a globally recognized approach for improving collaboration, engagement, and collective problem-solving. With more than three decades of leadership experience, he has worked across business, healthcare, education, and organizational development, helping groups unlock innovation through simple but powerful participatory methods. Since 2004, he has been co-developing Liberating Structures and co-authoring The Surprising Power of Liberating Structures, a practical guide used by leaders, facilitators, and change-makers around the world. Earlier in his career, Henri held senior executive roles including Chairman of Plexus Institute and President of Merck’s Intercontinental Region and Japan, where he led large-scale international operations. His background combines industrial engineering, chemical engineering, and systems thinking, giving him a unique perspective on complexity and human collaboration. Henri is widely respected for helping organizations create environments where everyone can contribute, learn, and thrive.
